Freinet renovate 2024

For 6 years, there has been a working group within the Freinet cooperative that is concerned about Freinet pedagogy and its future and further development. The motivation for the first “Freinet renovate” meeting in January 2018 was (also) the concern about the perception of Freinet pedagogy as a “niche movement”. Our aim is to give the enormous potential of Freinet pedagogy greater recognition/impact in the current educational discourse and in the practice of education and learning/learning support.
The following topics are planned so far:

• To hatch impulses for the further development of the cooperative for Freinet pedagogy and concrete actions for the coming year. We are concerned with issues such as public image, organization of the cooperative, cooperation, membership recruitment…
• Getting involved in the current educational discourse: Where is there potential in Freetian experiential
  knowledge that is not yet sufficiently communicated
  ? Here we consider how we can get involved in politics, the media, administration and educational movements…
• Freinet in concrete terms: discussing cases and questions from our respective day-care/school days and advising each other.
  
• Space for creative sessions – a must: Music, arts, games, fun, fun, fun … 😉
• Further ideas and impulses are of course very welcome.
• To do this, we are organizing this meeting where we can share our thoughts and live Freinet together. It is not intended to be a training course, but a workshop to which all those interested in Freinet are invited. As participants, we are counting on you as Freinet-experienced practitioners and/or theorists or as generally interested people with a desire for exchange, reflection and conceptual work.
• The meeting is organized by the cooperative at cost price.
