Natural method

Our topics at a glance

Questions are the way to successful learning.

Freinet’s pedagogy is about a natural approach to learning: through the method of tactile experimentation, learners control their own individual development. Their natural will to learn remains alive.

Open up spaces for questions in your group. Research and discovery guide the way to learning new topics. Allow trial and error and give learners space. In this way, you allow a fundamental joy of learning to grow.

I am not a trained Freinet pedagogue, but an artist with a great admiration for the Freinet pedagogy. When I work with children, I observe that time passes unnoticed and they are busy with their bodies and minds making the most of the opportunities that present themselves. They have aha experiences and each child can act in their own way. I enjoy seeing that children want to work and learn: They discover through play when they feel undisturbed and have stimulating opportunities available to them.

Diversity of learning paths

Develop your spirit of research and discovery.
Develop an attitude to deal with the variety of learning paths with joy. Accept detours and failures as necessary steps towards further development. Become a researcher yourself through your learning projects. Share your experiences in the group and celebrate the presentations at the end of your project. They are the reward for your work.

What I enjoy most is learning together with my students and with participants from further education and training courses. It’s incredibly liberating to no longer have to walk around as a “walking encyclopaedia” with an immediate answer to every question. I become a researcher myself when we pursue new questions together and try out new methods.
