Questions and experiments
"Questions and experiments" ...
Our club magazine is called “Fragen und Versuche” (abbreviated FuV).
This is an unusual name for a magazine, but it expresses exactly what it is: a trend-setting magazine that serves as a grassroots democratic mouthpiece for all people interested in reform pedagogy. FuV has been around since 1977 and is the communication organ for all Freinet educators inside and outside our association.

Living grassroots democracy
FuV’s editorial team is constantly changing, so that different people shape the magazine and set their own priorities. This grassroots democratic principle is also implemented in the creation of our magazine: As a rule, our members write the articles for FuV themselves. Sometimes we also look outside the box to Austria or Switzerland in an issue and report on what is being tried out there.
Giving everyone the floor
In the spirit of Freinet, the FuV gives our grassroots a voice: people who are active in the cooperative for Freinet pedagogy. The authors …
- write about what is on their minds.
- provide experience reports on national and international meetings, further education and training.
- think about theory and link it to practice.
- discuss contributions to the current educational discourse.
- publish free texts and pictures of learners from school or daycare.
FuV is also a place where discussion can and should take place. The editorial team does not wish to exercise censorship. All contributions are welcome.

My trust in children as their own learning managers has grown considerably through my work with the Freinet pedagogy.

Working with the children and everything else on the outside is not always fun, but if I keep my focus on the children, the children and I are fine.
